This Autumn, the Goldsmiths’ Hall are hosting an exhibition of work of the previous winners of the Young Designer Silversmith Award.
I was given the opportunity to make the cocktail shaker set as a result of winning the Young Designer Silversmith Award 2005 in my first year at university. The award enabled me to have the privilege of making this piece in Grant Macdonald’s workshop as well as being a truly significant step in launching me into a career as a silversmith.
The panelled design and the highly polished mirror finish creates light reflecting surfaces and a feeling of fluidity elevating the cocktail shaking experience to greater heights.
