On Whit-Monday 28th May 2012, the 28th National Silver Day will take place in Schoonhoven, the Netherlands, when the town’s historic centre will be transformed into one large open air silver - gold workshop and fair.

I will be putting on a special display of my silver works from 26th to 28th May within the ancient town hall, dating back to 1450. It is going to be a magnificent backdrop to the exhibition. You are warmly invited to pay me a visit on my stand.

At more than 140 locations there will be exhibitions, items for sale, and demonstrations given. Pavilions and stands, as well as the studios of the goldsmiths and silversmiths of Schoonhoven, will be bustling with activity. Furthermore, valuers will be available who will be able to look at historic items of silver to determine their value price today.

Generally over 20,000 people visit this joyous occasion.

In Schoonhoven, people have worked with silver since the 14th century. In more than 700 years, Schoonhoven has grown to become the ‘Creative Silver town on the Lek River’. To this very day, Schoonhoven goldsmiths and silversmiths make traditional as well as contemporary jewellery and metalware objects unique to the Netherlands!
